Sandra Widner Burch 

Poem: Slow Dance

Bio: Sandra Widner Burch won an Editor's Choice Award in 2008 for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry for her poem "No More Fears" and it is published in Collected Whispers. Her poem "Sixteen Candles" advanced to the semi-final round of the National Amateur Poetry Competition and is published in Sunflowers & Seashells. "He Bled for Me" was published in Patience and Grace in 2011. "A Mother's Prayer" inspired by her son, Casey, was a semi-finalist in an International Open Poetry Contest in 2012. Her love for writing and reading poetry keeps her striving to inspire others with her words.

Chase Parnell 

Story: Life or Death? 

Bio: Chase Parnell is a law student in Missoula, Montana. He is an avid trail runner and newlywed. He enjoys life in Montana, but will someday return to Oregon where he feels most at home. He has previously published his writing in Trail Runner magazine and is currently working on a young adult novel set on an island in the Arctic.

Rachael Stanford

Poem: We Is

Rachael Stanford is a poet/playwright/essayist located in central Illinois. Her poetry has appeared in the following journals: Euphemism, BlazeVox, and Adroit. Her poetry was selected by Sandbox Theatre for a creative dance piece in 2012. She has also been a featured poet of the Peoria Poetry club on several occasions. In addition, Stanford has won awards from the Fulton County Council for their Spoon River creative writing contest. Her essays have appeared in the journal Euphemism. Additionally, she has work in a forthcoming anthology, Chica Peeps. In 2010, Stanford won the Heartland Ten-Minute Play contest and was a semi-finalist in 2012. Her ten minutes plays were produced in 2012 and 2013 by Cornstock Theatre. Also, Katie Rasumean Theatre and the Delavan Theatre Company have produced her plays.

G.L. Snodgrass

Story: Prom Date

Bio: G.L. Snodgrass is a born romantic. He has traveled the world twice over before settling down with his soul mate. He is a retired grandfather who likes to look at the world through young eyes.

Poem: Jess Cook 

Bio: Alicia Cook is a resident of New Jersey and she holds a BA in English Literature as well as an MBA. Cook has been writing for as long as she could remember and within the last year or so she has been posting some of her writing to her Instagram page (@thealiciacook). Cook enjoys writing both long and short fiction as well as poetry. She also dabbles in blackout poetry. She has been published in both media and print.

Danny Judge

Story: Exhausted

Bio: Danny Judge is an emerging writer who is working on his first novel. His short story, “Last Night,” will appear later this year in The Quotable. A former Marine, he lives in the Midwest with his wife and two-year-old son.
